Wedding Planning
Tell us about your menu tasting, show arounds, planning meetings?
We loved our meetings, we were always made to feel so comfortable and welcome, and able to ask any questions we had. The menu tasting was such a lovely event to do together to get us excited for our big day, we really enjoyed trying all the food and wines to pick for our family and friends to enjoy.
What wedding menu did you choose?
We chose goosnaugh duck terrine, rhubarb chutney and soft herb salad for starter. Loin of pork, slow roasted with garlic and sage, grilled cabbage, cider sauce main, sticky toffee pudding dessert.
Who was in charge of planning, you or the groom/joint effort?
Mainly me.
Did you ever feel overwhelmed with planning?
I didn’t feel overwhelmed with the planning, I quite like organising things but I did start to panic in the week or so running up to the wedding if I had organised enough things for the day.
What did you do the day before your wedding?
Myself and Liam drove up to Seaham Hall to drop all the wedding items off and check me into the room I was staying in the night before the wedding, then we both went out for separate meals with family and friends.
Making Your Wedding Different
Were there any special elements that you definitely wanted to include in your big day?
Not really we just wanted to have our friends and family together to enjoy our big day.
Was there anything extra special or unusual about your wedding?
We wanted to keep the night do fun, so we added carnival games, DJ, selfie mirror and a roulette table which was great to practice for our honeymoon to Las Vegas.
What were the standout moments for you both?
For me it was walking down the aisle, by that point I was incredibly nervous and the staff did a great job of keeping me calm, it was just so lovely to see our friends and families faces as I walked down. Exchanging vows was definitely the biggest stand out moment for both of us.
Tell us about your wedding photos and which are your favourite and why?
The style of our photographer is very natural, we have only had a sneaky look at a few photos so far, but my favourite is one of my Mam walking me down the aisle and Liam stood with his back to us from the bottom of the isle.
