Seaham Beach has recently been voted third place for Beach of The Year by BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards 2019! Our clifftop location boasts a five-minute walk to the beach, and there’s no better reason to plan your staycation by the sea with Seaham Hall…
Spectacular scenery all year round
During winter there’s no drama to be missed at our coastline. Stay entertained for hours by roaring waves crashing against the lighthouse. During summer, you’ll find crisp blue skies and deep sapphire waters… the perfect location for an afternoon picnic whilst you bask in the sun.

Seaham Sea Glass
A popular trend amongst Seaham Beach lovers. Until the 1920s, the Candlish family had one of the largest bottle works in the country located in Seaham, and at the end of each working day discarded their unused glass in the North Sea. Over the years, the sea glass has tumbled its way through the waves and churned into smooth glass stones polished by Mother Nature.
Sea glass collecting has become popular amongst visitors, some turning their collections into jewellery including the popular Seaham resident Seaham Waves. After your visit, drop off your sea glass to Hotel Reception and we can arrange for it to be made into a piece of jewellery for you.
