Holistic Therapy Day

Reflexology

This Holistic Therapy day we’re talking all things Reflexology…

Exactly what is Reflexology? Reflexology uses a foot chart which highlights zones in the feet that correspond to different systems and organs of the body. A therapist will apply pressure to these zones using various massage techniques. A generic treatment will treat all areas of the foot to work on the body as a whole. Studies have suggested that this treatment can help provide many benefits, including releasing the symptoms of anxiety, reducing pain i.e. osteoarthritis, helping people to sleep easier and much more.

To give you an insight into reflexology from the perspective of a specialised therapist, our Holistic Therapist Jenny has answered a few questions about reflexology…

What do you love most about reflexology?

I love how flexible it is compared to other treatments their isn’t a huge amount of cases where it couldn’t be used, I also love how relaxing & soothing it is & how you feel afterwards

What are your favourite benefits of reflexology?

Calms the stress levels

Helps ease the pain levels

Helps with getting a better night’s sleep

Opens the feet and helps them feel refreshed and lighter

What piece of feedback about a reflexology treatment have you received that has stood out the most?

People usually say they feel like they are walking on air afterwards but my favourite feedback has to be when someone has found that reflexology has sorted out an issue that they had.

When would you recommend reflexology to a client?

I’d usually recommend it to those who are stressed anxious struggling to sleep run a lot, have tried massages and found it not to be enough tension on their feet all day or they just want to try something new, it’s a treatment that lovers a broad spectrum & can be used with other treatments as well as being a stand-alone treatment.
