Nothing stands still for long at Seaham! Our team has been hard at work supporting local causes, focusing on health and wellness, and doing all-round good things to help spread a little festive cheer this time of year.
Stuart from Ozone | The WhatsApp wellness calendar
With those last few gifts to buy, festive food to sample, and plenty of tipples to indulge in, our health and wellbeing are often the last things on our minds as we countdown to Christmas. However, Stuart from the Ozone team has taken to WhatsApp to deliver his wellness advent calendar which (instead of chocolatey treats) features daily reminders of how we can take better care of ourselves this winter.
His wellness calendar covers all aspects of physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, and has so far included tips such as drinking a glass of water a day, immune-boosting salad recipes, and even favourite cracker jokes – because let’s face it, laughter is always the best form of medicine. We can’t wait for his final few tips in the run-up to the 25th!
Personal Trainer, Phil | Sports massage success
During lockdown, one of our personal trainers, Phil, took the opportunity to expand his skills and is now a qualified Sports Massage Therapist!
‘I started my sports massage therapy course back in the first lockdown, expanding my knowledge of physiological wellness of soft tissues and the impact it has on health and mental wellbeing. I’ve learnt how to treat dysfunctional muscles with a range of sports science and holistic techniques before fully qualifying as a Sports Massage Therapist! I am now looking forward to further helping others with chronic aches and pains and reduced movement and ability.’
Hotel Reception Manager, Danielle | Cheesecakes for charity
Because Christmas is all about indulgence, our Hotel Reception Manager, Danielle, has been hard at work in the kitchen creating sweet treats. Her Sweetest of Surprises cheesecakes have not only been delighting us here at Seaham Hall, but the residents of Hartlepool and beyond. She has also hosted regular raffles to raise money for the mental health charity, MIND, and, in December, a whopping £440 was raised for this amazing cause.
