This year has seen remote working become the norm. And although it’s meant endless Zoom calls, wearing comfy clothes from the waist down, and spending more time at home than ever, it’s also meant we can be more flexible when it comes to travel.
Lots of us are now switching things up and choosing to work away from home, and it’s easy to see why. Here are just a few reasons why we think this new trend will be here to stay.
Most places have everything you need to work remotely
If you need to get your head down for a while, then hotels are quite often the perfect places. You can simply shut yourself away for a while, make the most of the peace and quiet, and enjoy all the little luxuries that come with staying away from home. With great WiFi, a spacious work area, and unlimited room service, you’ve got everything you need for a day’s work. And if you have your own private garden, then why not take things outside when the sun is shining?
You can enjoy a much-need change of scenery
More often than not, change does us the world of good. Working from home is bound to bring on bouts of cabin fever, especially if it’s not something that you’re used to or you don’t have the perfect office setup. Plus, if you’re used to working in an office full of people, then being home alone all day is bound to affect your productivity levels.
But we’re not just talking about the room you’re working in. If you live in the city, then switching it up for the countryside or coast can also help clear the head and do wonders for your wellbeing.
You can really make the most of your time away
Remote working provides a great opportunity to begin your mini break early. Heading up a night earlier than planned can make all the difference, as come 5pm, there are no lengthy journeys, no packing and unpacking suitcases, and no rushing around to ensure you have everything you need. You can simply shut down the computer, turn off the work phone, and switch off for a couple of days.
The same goes for extending your getaway. If Monday mornings now consist of firing up a laptop for a Zoom call as opposed to commuting to the office for a 9am meeting, then why not extend your weekend break and stay another night? You can thank us later.
